John Nemeth is a true soul man. Born in Idaho, he got his start singing at church functions, and grew up to eke out a living as a truck driver. Resolute to pursue his dream of singing the blues, last year Nemeth packed up his truck and departed Oakland, California, for the legendary musical shores of Memphis. Even though his rental truck broke down in the desert en route, two days later he was holed up at Emmy-winning producer and musician Scott Bomar's Electraphonic Studio, cutting what would become his latest CD, Memphis Grease, and includes the track, "Sooner or Later."

Nemeth has this to say about the song:

"After having a conversation with an Oakland postal clerk about the risks people take, the line 'Sooner or later you learn' came up. I walked home and had the melody and lyrics almost completely written by the time I got there. Scott Bomar convinced me to do a harmonica solo, which gives it a '60s pop-friendly vibe. By the way, that postal clerk told me she used to wait on Irma Thomas at that very same post office in the early '70s."
